A day program offered to senior’s throughout Chatham-Kent who are living in their own homes or with a family member. Senior’s Day Out is designed for seniors who may be experiencing difficulty managing the activities of daily living, require caregiver support, or are interested in expanding their social circle. Senior’s Day out is run from St. Andrew’s Residence and there is no referral needed to participate.
Age Friendly is coordinated by the World Health Organization, as a means to address the aging population and the associated costs and health risks that accompany it. It defines an ‘age friendly city’ as one that has “an inclusive and accessible community environment that optimizes opportunities for health, participation ad security for all people, in order that quality of life and dignity are ensured as people age.” Age Friendly Chatham-Kent is building an inclusive, accessible and respectful community that enables independence at all stages of aging.
Delivers hot, nutritious meals, while providing social interaction and regular visits to help ensure the client’s well-being. Meals on Wheels Chatham-Kent is a not for profit organization dedicated to supporting health, well-being, and independence.
